Travel by road from Ho Chi Minh City to the river town of Cai Be where you will board your Bassac boat. After a welcome drink and introductions to the crew, cruise through the bustling waterways and slip into the quieter canals as you enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch. Built of wood in the traditional style of rice barge, the boats have a maximum of 12 cabins with the modern comforts of air conditioning and en suite showers.
Relax on the upper deck and watch the scenery and river life glide past, from emerald rice fields to bountiful orchards. A visit will be made to a local village to gain an appreciation of the life and culture of its inhabitants. Finish the day watching the river sunset as the crew serve dinner.

The next day enjoy an early breakfast as you travel through the bustling river scene, past rice barges laden with produce. Head for Cai Rang, one of the floating markets in the delta where you will experience the buzz of locals selling a wide range of goods and produce. Afterwards, visit a small bamboo basket workshop, before disembarking and travelling by road back to Ho Chi Minh City.
