This morning pass through beautiful Hanoi to visit the excellent Ethnology Museum to learn about the diverse ethnic minorities you will encounter on your journey to Sapa. You will then go on a five hour drive to Sapa passing spectacular mountain scenery, finishing this evening with a drink set amongst the highest and most beautiful mountains in Vietnam.

After breakfast, take a brief guided tour of Sapa town with its colourful market, before a short drive to the Ta Van Hoa Valley to begin a walk through the terraced rice paddy fields. The walk takes you through the home of the Black Hmong tribe and gives an opportunity to observe the daily life and traditional hospitality of these people.

Drive south from Sapa towards Topas Ecolodge and then descend on foot into the valley below to visit the ethnic minorities of Lech Village. This picturesque area of the Sapa region is not often visited by tourists but is home to the colourful Red Dzao who are well known for their local medicines and skilled embroidery. Tonight you stay at the remote Topas Ecolodge, which has unsurpassed views over the surrounding countryside and valley below. Enjoy a farewell dinner tonight with your fellow travellers.

After breakfast, enjoy some free time at the lodge, where you might like to try a spa treatment or take a short walk into the surrounding area. You will then journey back to Hanoi to be dropped off at the airport or city.
