Welcome to Vietnam! On arrival, you will be met at the airport for a private transfer to your chosen Hanoi hotel, after which you have the rest of the day, and the next, to explore this fascinating city.
Soak in the sights, sounds, and sumptuous smell of street food on a stroll through the Old Quarter, visit the 11th Century Imperial Citadel of Thang Long and nearby Temple of Literature, and cross the iconic, red wooden footbridge to Ngoc Son Temple on an island in Hoan Kiem Lake.
A Hanoi city tour with a private driver/guide is also available to pre-book – just ask your Travel Consultant.

Day 3 – Halong Bay Cruise
After breakfast, you will be met at your hotel for the roughly 2.5 hour drive to Halong Bay, a magical seascape where thousands of limestone karsts rise from emerald green waters.
Settle in to your cabin before relaxing on deck as your overnight Halong Bay cruise sets sail. After a buffet lunch as you pass the intriguingly named Fighting-Cock and Human Head islets, you’ll stop at Trinh Nu Cave to admire its stalactites and stalagmites, then swim, snorkel or kayak from a private beach.
Dinner is served on board, often accompanied by an unforgettable Halong Bay sunset.
Day 4 – Halong Bay to Hoi An
Resist the temptation for a lie in this morning so not too miss the sunrise over Halong Bay. The tranquillity is absorbing, as is watching the morning mist slowly disappear from the tops of the karsts.
There will be time to swim or kayak before brunch and your return to Halong City where you’ll disembark and travel to Hanoi airport for your flight to Da Nang. On arrival, you will be greeted at the airport for your transfer to your chosen Hoi An hotel, for a three night stay.
Your chosen Hoi An hotel
Day 5 & 6 – Hoi An
To wander through Old Town Hoi An is to take a step back in time. Several of the 800 traditional buildings, recognised by UNESCO for their historic importance, are open to visitors. Crossing the town’s famous Japanese Covered Bridge is a must, as is a visit to the wonderfully elaborate Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation.
For a cultural break, you could spend your second day on Cua Dai or An Bang Beach, both fringed by palm trees, bars and restaurants.
Your chosen Hoi An hotel
Day 7 to 9 – Ho Chi Minh City
It’s a short flight from Hoi An to Ho Chin Minh City, where you’ll be greeted at the airport for your transfer to your chosen Ho Chi Minh City hotel.
The pace of change in Ho Chi Minh City, which matches that in other South East Asian megacities, is no more evident than from the observation deck at the top of Landmark 81, Vietnam’s tallest buildings.
380 metres below however, there are many historical and cultural sights to explore, including the French inspired Opera House and Notre Dame Cathedral, the bustling Ben Thanh Market, and the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, used by the Viet Cong during the American/Vietnam War. A day trip to the Mekong Delta is also possible – just ask your Travel Consultant.
Your chosen Ho Chi Minh City hotel
Day 10 & 11 – Phnom Penh
Welcome to Cambodia! After flying from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh, transfer from the airport and settle into your chosen Phnom Penh hotel.
You have two nights here to explore the city’s vibrant riverside and extraordinary temples and palaces. The Silver Pagoda (Wat Preah Keo) at the Royal Palace is a great place to start. It is home to a magnificent emerald Buddha, as well as another made of sold gold and adorned with 2086 diamonds. Also recommended is the National Museum of Cambodia that houses a wonderful collection of Khmer sculptures.
If you would like to visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and infamous Killing Fields on a day tour, your Travel Consultant can arrange this.
Your chosen Phnom Penh hotel
Day 12 to 14 – Siem Reap & Angkor Wat
Travel overland from Phnom Penh to you chosen hotel in Siem Reap; an approximate 3 hour journey through the heartland of Cambodia.
Siem Reap is the gateway to the Temples of Angkor, a spellbinding collection of ancient religious monuments. You can explore independently or pre-book a Temples of Angkor tour, on which your guide will take you to the most impressive and historically important sites.
Don’t miss the 216 stone-carved smiling faces at Bayon, the state temple of Jayavarman VII at Angkor Thom, the jungle-consumed Beng Mealea, and, of course, sunrise at the mystical Angkor Wat.

Day 15 to 19 – Phuket
From Siem Reap, fly to Thailand for five nights of relaxation at your chosen Phuket hotel.

Away from the beach, take a taxi or tuk tuk to the Big Buddha in the Nakkerd Hills for a 360 degree view of the island, or a boat tour to see the stunning limestone karsts in Phang Nga Bay. For souvenirs, test your haggling skills at one of Phuket’s famous night markets.
