Description

Few coastal cruises in Tasmania come close to this Wineglass Bay cruise, tracing the dramatic shoreline of Freycinet National Park between Coles Bay and the world-famous Wineglass Bay, beneath the pink-hued peaks of the Hazards range.

Along the way, you’ll pass secluded beaches like Cooks and Bryans, reachable only by boat or a full-day hike, and cruise through the sheltered waters of Schouten Island, home to little penguins and shearwaters, before opening out into the Tasman Sea en route to Wineglass Bay. Watch for hidden sea caves, blowholes and waterfalls carved into the cliffs.

The highlight of the Wineglass Bay cruise is arriving at the bay by boat, a view few visitors ever see, with its white sand and clear turquoise waters. Onboard stories cover the region’s Aboriginal heritage and early explorers.

Marine life is abundant: sea eagles on the cliffs, dolphins riding the bow wave, fur seals on the rocks, and cormorants around Schouten Passage. Between September–December and May–July, look for migrating humpback or southern right whales, along with albatross, shearwaters, gannets and little penguins throughout the journey.

The on board Vista Lounge offers floor to ceiling windows for optimum viewing from the comfort of your seat, complemented by spacious outdoor decks so you can immerse yourself in the experience. A licensed bar and cafe serves local beverages, hot drinks and treats for purchase. For a more intimate experience, upgrade to the adults-only Sky Lounge on the upper deck, offering direct access to the Captain’s bridge and a private viewing deck.
