From Melbourne, you can either fly or take the train journey to Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. The city is brimming with heritage façade buildings, leafy parks and wide shopping terraces.

If you are feeling energetic, there’s a circular 6.4 km riverside walk (or run!) that goes past the Adelaide Oval and zoo. Alternatively, jump or a tram to the suburb of Glenelg, to relax on its sandy beach or enjoy a dip in the sea. Back in town, Leigh Street, Peel Street and Gilbert Place are great for bar hopping in the evening.

Included in your holiday is a full day tour to the Barossa Valley, around an hour’s drive north east of the city. Here you will be introduced to the passionate wine makers of South Australia and get to savour the local produce at cellar door tastings, whilst you take in the stunning views of the vine-covered valley.
