In the afternoon, disembark at Long Plains and transfer by coach to the world-renowned Barossa Valley. Here, at the historic Seppeltsfield Estate, an evening of fine wine and dining awaits. Enjoy a signature culinary experience in the vintage cellar, created exclusively for Indian Pacific guests, complete with a ‘Firing of the Barrel’ and a food and wine pairing designed by Executive Chef Owen Andrews. Platinum guests are also invited to taste a rare 100 year old tawny, a true highlight of the region.
After dinner, return to the train, where the Indian Pacific rolls eastward into the night.

This morning, the Indian Pacific arrives in the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains, a landscape of sandstone cliffs and eucalypt valleys. After breakfast, you have a choice of three off-train experiences:
- Scenic World & Echo Point – glide over the forest in the Scenic Cablecar, and ride the world’s steepest passenger railway, all before lunch and wine at Echo Point Lookout
- Blue Mountains Discovery Trail – join a guided 3 km guided bushwalk along the Prince Henry Cliff path to Echo Point, where a light lunch awaits
- High Tea in the Blue Mountains – soak in the views of dramatic cliffs and cascading waterfalls at Govetts Leap Lookout, before enjoying fluffy scones and savoury delights
Onwards travel to Sydney is aboard a chartered New South Wales rail service, fully hosted by your Indian Pacific crew. Alternatively, if you don’t wish to visit the Blue Mountains, you can stay on the Indian Pacific and reach Sydney before lunch.
