There is plenty to do right on your doorstep. Why not catch the ferry to take in the city from the water, or head up the Sky Deck for 360° aerial views? Alternatively, you could relax at the South Bank’s man-made Streets Beach, or take a stroll through the City Botanic Gardens.

Pick up your motorhome in Brisbane, and you’re free to take the next six days at your leisure as you travel down Australia’s east coast towards Sydney.

As you head south along the Pacific Highway, we’d recommend spending a day or two in Byron Bay. This easy-going, bohemian resort is known for its golden beaches and surf culture. You may like to take the stunning coastal walk to Cape Byron Lighthouse, mainland Australia’s most easterly point, or simply enjoy the beaches and the town’s many trendy eateries.

For your next stop, you might like to visit Coffs Harbour, one of Australia’s principal fruit-growing regions. You can explore the famous ‘Big Banana’ plantation and amuseument park, or simply spend time in the town’s busy marina, beautiful beaches and botanical gardens.

To encounter incredible marine life, a day in Port Stephens is certainly worth incorporating. You can go whale watching or spot bottlenose dolphins on a harbour cruise.

Closer to Sydney, why not spend a day in the renowned Hunter Valley wine region, where you can enjoy cellar door tastings. We’d also recommend heading out to the Blue Mountains, where you can enjoy spectacular hiking and admire the iconic Three Sisters rock formation.

Enjoy waking up surrounded by the scenery of the Blue Mountains before you head for the city, where you can return your motorhome and spend two nights in your chosen hotel.

Alongside Sydney’s iconic sights like the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, there are a whole host of museums, galleries, parks and gardens to explore during your stay. Why not take a stroll through the Royal Botanic Garden that borders the Harbour and connects you to the historic Rocks district. The coastal walk from Bondi to Coofee takes about two hours, and offers striking views of the coastline’s cliffs and rock formations throughout.

Make your way to the airport today, to hop over to New Zealand’s South Island. Known as the ‘Garden City’, Christchurch is rich in history and surrounded by natural wonders. Spend your time here exploring 19th Century buildings and extensive green spaces of this English-feeling city by vintage tram, classic Edwardian punt, bicycle or a simple stroll. You can discover Christchurch’s arts scene at the Canterbury Museum and the Christchurch Art Gallery then visit the rejuvenated Riverside Market for local cuisine and shopping.

Collect your motorhome today to spend a few days exploring New Zealand’s scenic South Island.

Whilst you can go as you please in your home on wheels, we’d recommend spending your first night in Dunedin. On the way, stop in Oamaru, with its Victorian architecture and ‘Steampunk’ personality. In Dunedin, you can visit New Zealand’s only castle, Larnach Castle. In the afternoon and early evening, you can encounter endangered Yellow Penguins on the Otago Peninsula.

Then, continue to Queenstown, where you can easily spend two or three days. There are activities of all manner on offer, from thrilling jet boat rides to lake cruises aboard a vintage steamer, or mountain gondola rides. From Queenstown, you could spend a day exploring the spectacular Milford Sound.

Continue to Franz Josef to explore its magnificent glacier. You can walk to some spectacular viewpoint, or for a close up you can take a guided hike along the valley floor, or even take a scenic helicopter flight to see it from the sky.

Head up the west coast, making your way towards Abel Tasman National Park, you may like to spend a day in Punakaiki, where you can marvel at the unique rock formations and blowholes of Paparoa National Park. Exploring Abel Tasman National Park the next day, discover pristine beaches and subtropical rainforest.

This morning make your way to Picton. This is the departure point for your ferry crossing to Wellington. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as you make your way across the Cook Strait. On arrival in Wellington spend the rest of the day at leisure. If time permits, head up Mount Victoria for fantastic views across the city, admire the Parliament Buildings, visit Te Papa museum or simply relax in lively Courtney Place, soaking up the ambiance.

Continue to Rotorua to spend two nights. Rotorua, known for its geothermal wonders and rich Maori ciulture, has a host of attractions and experiences for everyone from adventure-seekers to those just looking to unwind.

Why not spend a day discovering the erupting geysers and bubbling mud pools of this volcanic area. Visit the Waimangu Volcanic Valley which boasts the world’s youngest geothermal eco-system and the largest hot water spring. Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland’ is also worth exploring, with Lady Knox Geyser that erupts daily, exploding high into the air.

For an incredible wildlife encounter, head to Rainbow Springs Wildlife Park for a Kiwi Encounter. Alternatively, you may like to visit Te Puia New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute where you can listen to traditional storytelling and learn about Maori culture.

Spend three days exploring the Coromandel at your leisure. This laid back beach town on New Zealand’s North Island is filled with pristine beaches, native forests and is a tranquil haven away from the city. Activities and attractions are plentiful. For the more adventurous head to the Sleeping God Canyon waterfall or you can enjoy a more relaxed walk amongst pristine bushland. For those looking to relax and unwind we suggest a trip to the warm bubbling pools of Hot Water Beach where you can sit in your own spa and admire the spectacular views. Cathedral Cove is well worth a visit, where you can admire the striking coastline from a kayak.

From the Coromandel you could head further north to the scenic Bay of Islands where you can enjoy a stunning cruise. On your way, you could stop at Waitangi to visit the Treaty Grounds and Whangarei to admire its waterfall.

Arrive into Auckland to spend three nights exploring the ‘City of Sails’. Over the next couple of days, enjoy the world-class shopping, lively waterfront, vibrant restaurants and bars, as well as the pulsating arts and culture scene. With a host of harbour adventures and activities right on your doorstep, and many spectacular beaches close by, there is plenty to see and do.
