Description
A tour of the remote Tiwi Islands is a must for those looking to gain an authentic understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture, community and the arts.
After a 2.5 hour cruise from Darwin to Bathurst Island you will be met and led by a local guide through the progressive community of Wurrumiyanga.
Enjoy billy tea and damper with the traditional Tiwi Ladies as they weave, paint, and perform totem dances, and welcome you to their land through a traditional smoking ceremony.
Enjoy a visit the Tiwi Arts & Crafts Centre where you can see the local artists at work and purchase their colourful pieces before heading back to the ferry terminal for your return to Darwin.
