The moment you step on board the Ghan you are whisked away to an era of pioneering travel. Settle into your private cabin as the train starts its incredible journey north.
Meet fellow travellers in the Explorers Lounge, before enjoying a three course regionally inspired dinner in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant.
Wake up early to watch the sun rise over the desert – with a chance to disembark the train for this special experience at Marla.
Brunch is served on board, soon after which you cross the state border into the Northern Territory. The Ghan then continues to meander through the MacDonnell Ranges and arrives at Alice Springs when your journey ends in the early afternoon.

- Wednesday 12:10 – Depart Adelaide
- Thursday morning – Marla Experience
- Thursday 13:45 – Arrive Alice Springs
The reverse journey, from Alice Springs to Adelaide departs on a Thursday in March and November.
