Your Rail Journey
Your eastbound journey begins with a locally inspired lunch the Indian Pacific glides through the picturesque hills of the Avon Valley, en route to Kalgoorlie. Enjoy dinner and your first night on board, then rise with the sun as it transforms the colours of the Nullarbor Plain.
This is iconic Australia; mile upon mesmerising mile of rusty red soil, occasionally punctuated by small settlements established by early pioneers, such as the now deserted town of Cook, where you’ll disembark to explore.
After a second night on board, the Indian Pacific stops in Adelaide where you can enjoy a sightseeing tour, before lunch and dinner back on board as you head towards the border between South Australia and New South Wales.
On your fourth day, you’ll start with a morning activity in Broken Hill, leaving the rest of the day free for you to explore or relax as you wish.
On day five, wake up in the heart of the Blue Mountains, and either disembark for an excursion to Echo Point Lookout for stunning views of the Three Sisters and Jamison Valley, before continuing to Sydney on a private charter NSW Train Link, or remain on board the Indian Pacific to arrive into Sydney earlier.
