Your Itinerary

Day 1 to 3 - Kangaroo Island (110 kms)

Leave the leafy terraces of Adelaide and drive south towards Cape Jervis, the mainland departure point for the 45 minute ferry journey over to the quaint seafront town of Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. The island shows nature at its wildest, combining beautiful coastal seascapes, clear sea bays, and the native fauna and flora.

Spend the next three days exploring the 500 kilometres of coastline, from the sea lion littered beach at Seal Bay to the rugged surf beaches in the south.

Hotel: Kangaroo Island Seafront (Standard) or 1 Bedroom Apartment at Aurora Ozone Hotel (Deluxe).

Day 4 - Adelaide (110 kms)

Depart Kangaroo Island and take the ferry back to the mainland before returning to Adelaide. If time permits, stop along the way to explore the beautiful scenery of the Fleurieu Peninsula or McLaren Vale. The Peninsula is home to some of South Australia’s finest coastal, scenic and culinary experiences, including the iconic d’Arenberg Cube which houses a tasting room, contemporary art gallery and museum.

Hotel: Sage Hotel (Standard) or Majestic Roof Garden (Deluxe).

Day 5 to 6 - Wilpena Pound (460 kms)

Start the day heading north, past Port Pirie and Quorn before arriving into Wilpena Pound situated in the heart of the Flinders Ranges National Park. A 2 night stay allows you to take in the scale of Wilpena from both the air on a 20 minute scenic flight, and the land on a half day guided 4WD tour. Both of these are included within your self drive for you to maximise your time in this fascinating region.

Hotel: Wilpena Pound Resort, Aroona (Standard) or Wilpena Pound Resort, Heysen (Deluxe).

Day 7 - Clare Valley (298 kms)

Your journey back south towards Adelaide begins with an overnight stay in the beautiful Clare Valley. Perched in the majestic Mount Lofty Ranges the Clare is one of Australia’s oldest and most picturesque wine regions.

Hotel: Executive Room (Standard) or Superior Spa Room (Deluxe) at Clare Country Club.

Day 8 - Adelaide

Take your time driving through the heritage towns surrounding the Clare Valley as you begin your return journey to Adelaide.
