Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Perth to Bunbury (173 kms)
After picking up your car from the Perth city depot or airport, head south on the Kwinana Freeway and Forrest Highway and once you arrive into Bunbury get ready for possible dolphin sightings.
For a truly unique experience, take a dolphin swim tour or hop on a dolphin eco cruise (own expense). Alternatively, you can opt to take the scenic country route from Perth through the picturesque rolling pastures and orchards of Harvey and Dardanup, picking up some fresh local produce along the way.

Day 2 to 3 - Margaret River (100 kms)
Today drive is a short one to Margaret River so you may wish to make a few stops along the way.
At Busselton overlook Geographe Bay and walk or ride the train (own expense) along the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. In Dunsborough and Yallingup discover the natural wonders, history and legends of Ngilgi Cave or catch the sunset at Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse.
On your arrival into Margaret River you may wish to explore the quaint township or head straight to one of your favourite vineyards for a cellar tasting.
A two night stay in this region will give you plenty of time to explore the wineries and local food producers, beaches and national parks.

Day 4 - Pemberton (135 kms)
Leave Margaret River and travel south on one of the State’s most scenic drives, Caves Road. See two oceans meet at the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse and then make your way to the tall timber country surrounding Pemberton, including a visit to see the spectacular Karri trees in Gloucester National Park.

Day 5 - Denmark (187 kms)
Depart Pemberton for the world famous Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk in Walpole-Nornalup National Park. Continue along the coast and stop at the stunning Greens Pools before arriving into Denmark.

Day 6 to 7 - Albany (57 kms)
From Denmark, a 55 minute drive east through Albany will bring you to Discovery Bay and the state-of-the-art National Anzac Centre, where history comes alive with an informative journey outlining some of the lives of the 40,000 Anzacs who fought in the First World War.
A two night stay in Western Australia’s oldest town, Albany, will give you plenty of time to explore and visit the local popular attractions including Whale World, The Gap, Natural Bridge and Albany Wind Farm.

Day 8 & 9 - Esperance (410 kms)
Follow the coastline to the beautiful beaches of Esperance. Today is a long drive so you may wish to stop in Bremer Bay to break up the drive. If you are travelling between January and October, you may spot some whales. Continue along the coast and if time permits, you may wish to stop in at Hopetoun before continuing onto Esperance for a 2 night stay.
Esperance is home to some of the South West’s most beautiful coastline Enjoy the crystal blue waters and spectacular sights of Cape Le Grand National Park. Cruise through the Recherche Archipelago or take the 40 kilometre Great Ocean Drive, stopping at the amazing Pink Lake and the Wind Farm.

Day 10 - Hyden (383 kms)
Drive 380 kilometres from the coast, and through the Wheatbelt towns of Ravensthorpe, Lake King and Hyden to reach one of the region’s famous natural formations – Wave Rock, a 15 metre high cresting wave of solid granite shaped by the forces of nature over two billion years. As you explore Wave Rock’s 160-hectare nature reserve, be sure to visit Mulka’s Cave where a local Aboriginal legend is retold through more than 450 ancient rock paintings.

Day 11 - Perth (332 kms)
Today’s drive takes you back to Perth through the golden outback. We would recommend a late evening flight for your onward journey or a post night in Perth to enjoy the leisurely drive back to the city.
