Location, location, location. Knight Inlet Lodge calmly floats in Glendale Cove, in the centre of one of the greatest populations of grizzly bears in the whole of Canada. Every spring the bears and their cubs emerge from hibernation to gorge on sedge grass in the estuary. In summer they search for berries in the forest and in the autumn they fish for salmon along the river.

Grizzly bear viewing takes place daily between spring and autumn, by small motor boat, kayak or 4×4. All tours are guided by an expert and great care is taken not to disturb the bears in any way. During the salmon run it is possible to view from specially erected platforms along the river. Other excursions included whale watching, bird watching and nature hikes through the rainforest.

The lodge has a total of 18 simply furnished, en suite guest bedrooms; 14 with two queen size beds, four with one queen size bed and two singles. Guest rooms either look out over the inlet or the shoreline behind the lodge, where bears can often be spotted traveling to and from the estuary.
