Welcome to the USA! After making your way from the airport to your chosen Seattle hotel, head out to explore the shops, bars, restaurants and parks of this coastal city.

To get a good perspective on the city, you could start with a visit to the viewing deck of the iconic Space Needle, which overlooks Elliott Bay. Next, feel like a Seattleite by immersing yourself in Pike Place Market, with stalls selling everything from fresh fish to local art and crafts. There are plenty of restaurants and eateries to enjoy in the pavilion before you pick up a coffee in the very first Starbucks shop across the road.

For art lovers, there’s Chihuly Garden & Glass, showcasing the impressive glass sculptures of Dale Chihuly, and the renowned  collections of the Seattle Art Museum. Or, for a completely different angle on Seattle’s history, you could join a guided underground tour that explores previous incarnations of the city, before the present version was built on top.

This morning catch the catamaran fast-ferry from Seattle direct to Victoria on Vancouver Island. After transferring to your choice of Victoria hotel, there will be time to explore this historic town, perhaps joining a tour of the parliament buildings or visiting the excellent Royal BC Museum.

Included in your holiday is admission to the beautiful Butchart Gardens, a 25 minute ride from Downtown Victoria on the complimentary shuttlebus. Spend the day wandering the extensive rose gardens, perennial borders and more than 55 acres of other plants, flowers and shrubs. During summer there are also a variety of music and entertainment programmes on offer.

Meeting the locals is a fun part of any holiday, so we have also included a Victoria whale watching cruise, that departs from the  harbour. A superb chance to see the humpback whales that navigating the waters around Vancouver Island, if you are lucky, you may also spot resident orcas that feed on the local salmon.

Return to Victoria Harbour, but this time board a scheduled floatplane service to the city of Vancouver on the mainland. This 35 minutes journey provides spectacular views of both the coastal islands and the Vancouver city skyline, with the Rocky Mountains beyond. From Vancouver Harbour, make your way to your chosen Vancouver hotel.

To help you explore this vibrant, modern city, with its wonderful outdoorsy feel, we have included a Vancouver hop-on hop-off bus tour, that stops at all the main attractions. Stanley Park is a must, to wander through its pretty forests or visit the aquarium. Likewise, the chic area of Yaletown, for its boutique shops and restaurants offering tantalising fusion cuisine.

Last but not least, we have also included a visit to Capilano Suspension Bridge, where elevated walkways and bridges provide stunning views of the surrounding forests and the canyon below. Just catch the complimentary shuttle from Downtown.
