To get your bearings, we have included admission to the Vancouver Lookout, which, from 168 metres up, offers spectacular views over the city and out towards the Northshore Mountains.  We have also added a 24 hour hop-on hop-off bus pass, to easily travel between Vancouver’s most popular attractions, learning about the city and its history as you go from the on board commentary. Stops include Canada Place, Stanley Park Pavilion, Granville Island, Chinatown, Gastown and more.

Enjoy a final morning in Vancouver, before making your way this afternoon to Pacific Central Station for your overnight rail journey to Jasper. Board VIA Rail’s ‘The Canadian’ train and locate your chosen cabin. You can take a seat in the lounge or the panoramic viewing carriage to admire the stunning landscapes of British Columbia as they change from coastal plains to the mountainous foothills as you head towards the astounding Rockies.

Enjoy waking up in the Rocky Mountains. Take advantage of a relaxing morning, absorbing the astonishing views of the Canadian Rockies, before arriving into Jasper, a welcoming town surrounded by snow-capped peaks and lush forests.

With three nights in Jasper you will have plenty of time to hop aboard the Jasper SkyTram for an incredible bird’s eye view of the Canadian Rockies, learning about the unique geology, and flora and fauna of the area as you ascend from the tram’s trained operator. The cable car takes you to a lookout (with eatery) 2,263 metres up Whistlers Mountain. From here, you can follow the Summit Trail to the mountain’s peak at 2,463 metres, for 360° views of six mountain ranges, including Mount Robson.

Whilst in Jasper you can explore Jasper National Park on a guided tour which will take you to some of the most scenic waterfalls, deep canyons and crystal-clear lakes. Highlights include the Athabasca Viewpoint, Maligne Canyon, Medicine Lake and Maligne Lake.

Today, depart Jasper for one of the most scenic train rides in Western Canada, travelling through Jasper National Park and the Canadian Rockies on the way to the town of Prince George. This train route is frequented by tourists and locals alike, so you may be fortunate enough to hear stories of what it is like to live and work in the Rocky Mountains as the scenery passes your window.

On arrival in Prince George, depart the train and make your way to your chosen hotel.

Re-board the train and continue this stunning journey along to the town of Prince Rupert on the Pacific Coast. The route takes in more of the wonderous landscape of the Canadian Rockies, from the sparkling lakes and beautiful rivers to the snow-capped mountains. Enjoy a relaxing, comfortable and truly scenic all-daylight ride into picturesque Prince Rupert.

Whilst in Prince Rupert you can go in search of Canada’s iconic wildlife! If travelling between mid-May and late July, enjoy a tour out to the pristine wilderness of the Khutzeymateen, home of the largest population of grizzly bears anywhere on Earth.

If travelling late July to end September, you will be treated to a whale watching tour around the North Coast’s sheltered Inside Passage, where you may encounter grey whales, orca, porpoises, sea lions and more!
