Welcome to Vancouver, Western Canada! With two nights, you have time to explore this scenic city, backdropped by the Coast Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a stroll through the cobblestoned streets of historic Gastown, past Vancouver’s famous steam clock, check out the culinary scene in lively Yaletown, catch the ferry to Granville Island Public Market or head to picturesque Stanley Park to wander along the seawall.

Day 3 – Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops
Feel the excitement build as you board the Rocky Mountaineer this morning, for the start of your First Passage to the West rail journey. Admire the dramatic changes in scenery as you leave Vancouver and travel through the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley to the desert-like landscapes of the British Columbia interior. You’ll pass temperature coniferous forests and wind through river canyons, with the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains all around. Then, as evening draws in, the train hugs the shores of Kamloops Lake, before pulling into Kamloops itself where you’ll be staying the night.

Day 4 – Rocky Mountaineer to Banff
Reboard the Rocky Mountaineer early this the morning, to continue your journey into the mighty Canadian Rockies. Travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of Canada’s rich rail history. Highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the iconic glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your Rocky Mountaineer rail journey ends this evening in the resort town of Banff.

Day 5 – Banff
Today is yours to enjoy as you please in the welcoming town of Banff, where you’ll find activities for all.

Day 6 – Banff to Calgary

Before leaving Banff for the scenic drive to Calgary, there will also be time for a ride on the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain where it is possible to see six Canadian Rockies mountain ranges!
