Admire the dramatic changes in scenery as you leave Vancouver and travel through the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley to the desert-like landscapes of the British Columbia interior. You’ll pass temperature coniferous forests and wind through river canyons, with the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains all around. Then, as evening draws in, the train hugs the shores of Kamloops Lake, before pulling into Kamloops itself where you’ll be staying the night.

Highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the iconic glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your Rocky Mountaineer rail journey ends this evening in the resort town of Banff.

Begin the morning with a sightseeing tour of Banff, visiting Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and The Hoodoos, to name but a few of the natural wonders found in and around the town.

Before leaving Banff for the scenic drive to Calgary, there will also be time for a ride on the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain where it is possible to see six Canadian Rockies mountain ranges!
