Day 3 – Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops
Early this morning, board the Rocky Mountaineer, for the start of your Journey Through the Clouds rail tour. Watch in awe as you pass the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River as the train winds its way from Vancouver, through the Fraser Valley to the British Columbia interior. As evening draws in, you’ll travel along the shores of Kamloops Lake before pulling into Kamloops itself to disembark for a one night stay.

Day 4 – Rocky Mountaineer to Jasper
Your journey through the clouds continues today as you ascend into the mighty Canadian Rockies. Once again, you will be surrounded by dramatic scenery as you follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, climbing ever nearer to the high peaks of the Continental Divide.
Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, which at 3,954 metres is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, the tumbling Pyramid Falls and the climb over Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Your Rocky Mountaineer rail journey ends this evening on arrival in the resort town of Jasper.

Day 5 – Jasper
Today is yours to explore Jasper and the surrounding National Park at your leisure. Various activities are available to pre-book before you travel. Day 6 – Jasper to Banff
Today you will travel from Jasper to Banff via one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. En route you will stop at the Athabasca Glacier to ride out onto the ice in an Ice Explorer, and the impressive Columbia Icefield Skywalk, a glass-floored, counter-levered walkway that extends out over the cliffs of the Sunwapta Valley.
Lunch is provided at the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre, before you continue your journey to Bow Lake and then Banff.

Day 7 – Banff
Today is yours to enjoy as you please in the welcoming town of Banff, where you’ll find activities for all.

Day 8 – Banff to Calgary
Begin the morning with a sightseeing tour of Banff, visiting Surprise Corner, Bow Falls and The Hoodoos, to name but a few of the natural wonders found around the town. Next, enjoy a ride on the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, where it is possible to see six mountain ranges, a fitting finale to your time in the Canadian Rockies.
In the afternoon, sit back and relax on the scenic drive to Calgary, where you’ll stay the night.
