Skiing in Whistler
It’s easy to see why Whistler Blackcomb is regarded as one of the best places to ski in North America, if not the world. With over 200 trails carving the slopes and alpine bowls of the two mountains that give the resort its name, there’s a new challenge every day for those who seek it.
The ski lifts are modern and well designed, transporting you from Whistler Village to the main pistes in just 25 minutes, and the famous PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, which connects Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains is worth riding just for the views.
In the evenings and days away from the slopes there is plenty to keep you entertained, from spa treatments to snowshoeing and other winter activities. Plus great shopping, dining and après-ski.
To top it all off, Whistler is no more than a two hour drive from Vancouver, where you can add a city stay to complete your Canada skiing holiday.
Skiing in Banff & Lake Louise
You’re spoilt for choice in Banff with Mount Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Resort and Sunshine Village offering over 8000 acres of skiing between them, with feather light snow that often lasts from November through to May.
Our Ski Banff & Lake Louise package includes entry to all three resorts giving you a great choice of green, blue and black runs to take on. For advanced skiers and snowboarders, Banff Sunshine Village resort is home to the legendary Delirium Dive, 2500 ft of steep vertical, wide-open bowls.
After you’ve packed away your skis, why not treat yourself to a couple of nights at the famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, where each year they construct an intricate ice castle on the frozen waters?
Calgary is the main international gateway to Banff, with the stunningly scenic drive into the mountains taking around 1.5 hours.
Skiing in Jasper
Jasper’s Marmot Basin ski resort is known for its quiet slopes, long lasting snow and stunning views of the Canadian Rockies’ largest National Park.
There are 86 ski runs equally split between abilities, plus two terrain parks for freestylers. With a base elevation of 5570 ft, Marmot Basin has trails both above and below the tree line, that, with the glades, bowls and groomers, present a wonderful diversity for skiers and boarders alike.
Away from the slopes, a visit to Maligne Canyon is highly recommended, where you can walk with cleats over frozen river rapids and waterfalls. If you’re looking for thrills without the legwork, dog sledding in Jasper is also memorable, traversing magical, snow-covered meadows.
Most people travel to Jasper from Edmonton, although the characteristic mountain town can also be reached from Calgary or Banff if you’re combining resorts for the ultimate Canada ski trip!
