Flights Around the World
No one airline offers round the world tickets on their own, instead, they work with other airlines to make travelling around the globe possible and affordable, if you know where to look.
At Freedom Destinations our long haul Travel Specialists regularly design round the world flight itineraries and can advise on:
- Which airlines work together or codeshare
- The best value routes
- Convenient flight connections, to minimise waiting time
- Stopover destinations, hotels and activities
- Service level and perks offered by different airlines
So whether you are just looking for flights or for a complete round the world holiday, get in touch, it could save you hundreds of pounds.
Round the World Tickets
Round the world ticket prices are based on the number of continents visited or distanced travelled, rather than just the combined cost of each flight taken.
Typically, you must cross both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans once, but with a little planning and knowledge of which airlines work together therefore, you can get around the world for less than you may think!
Around the World Itinerary
Your options are endless, but why not stop in:
Dubai & Abu Dhabi
Only seven hours from the UK, the UAE makes a great first or last stop on a round the world itinerary. Emirates and Etihad are the main carriers, operating out of Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively. Fly onwards to Africa, the Indian Ocean, Asia or Australasia.
Asia
You can fly directly from the UK or Middle East to Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and several other of South East Asia’s capitals, adding bright lights and city bustle to your holiday. It’s only a short hop to the fabulous beaches of Thailand or Malaysia however, if soft sands and sunsets are more your thing.
South East Asia if the gateway to Australia and New Zealand, with the Singapore to Sydney flight taking around 7 hours 40 minutes.
Australia & New Zealand
Two incredible destinations, that can be combined on one unbelievable holiday. From Asia you can fly into Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Darwin in Australia and Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand, with Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific operating regular flights.
Pacific Islands
What round the world itinerary would be complete without a few days in tropical paradise? Fiji, the Cook Islands and Hawaii are all possible, with a choice of idyllic beach resorts and island hopping cruises available.
There are regular flights from Australia to Fiji and from New Zealand to the Cook Islands, and several airlines that fly directly from Sydney or Auckland to Honolulu.
America & Canada
Whichever direction you are travelling, North America’s iconic cities and spell-binding National Parks are almost a compulsory stop on any round the world holiday. Internal flights in the USA are also frequent and competitively priced, ideal for additional city hopping.
Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York is a popular route, likewise San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto, but the choice is yours! Airlines to America include Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, KLM and American Airlines, to name but a few.
Southern Africa
Johannesburg is the main gateway to the southern Africa countries of Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, as well as the spectacular Victoria Falls. A wild stop on any trip round the world!
