Following a hotel pick up from your Christchurch accommodation you will travel North through the rural pastoral scenes of North Canterbury before arriving into the picturesque coastal town of Kaikoura. On your arrival in Kaikoura, you will be transferred to a whale watch tour by boat where you will enjoy two and a half hour cruise. Keep your eyes out for humpback and sperm whales which inhabit the waters off the east coast.

After lunch, there is time to spot fur seal colonies on the rocky shores outside of the township. On your return to Christchurch if time allows, a stop maybe made at a North Canterbury vineyard where a wine tasting has been arranged for your pleasure.
