Day 1: Auckland
Depart London or your local airport for your journey to the North Island of New Zealand. Arrive into Auckland and spend the day at leisure before your journey to the Bay of Islands the following day.
Stay one night at the vibrant M Social hotel, overlooking Princes Wharf and a short walk to the many restaurants and bars which line the harbour.
Day 4: Bay of Islands
This morning collect your rental car in Auckland and make your way north to the beautiful Bay of Islands. Visit the Waitangi Treaty House, cruise to the ‘Hole in the Rock’ or explore coastal townships and beaches.
Make your way back to Auckland and enjoy another night in the city.
Day 7: Coromandel Peninsula
Depart Auckland for your drive to the Coromandel Peninsula, renowned for its beautiful white sandy beaches. Spend two nights at Hahei Beach, only a 10 minute walk from the unique Hot Water Beach and world renowned Cathedral Cove, where you have the opportunity for a relaxed half day kayaking tour.
Day 9: Rotorua
Today make your way to Rotorua and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Rotorua is the centre of the intense thermal activity in New Zealand. The city itself is situated on the shores of Lake Rotorua and excellent stream and lake fishing is abundant. Geysers, pools of boiling mud, hot mineral water and richly coloured craters make Rotorua one of the world’s great tourist attractions.
Enjoy a romantic two night stay at the Regent of Rotorua, a luxury boutique hotel within easy walking distance to the shops, dining precinct and lake shore.
Day 11: Taupo
Make the short drive to Taupo for your one night stay, where you will find stunning views of New Zealand’s largest lake. Tonight, stay at the Tauhara Sunrise Lodge and enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace overlooking the beautiful Lake Taupo.
Day 12: Napier
Make your way to Napier, the centre of the Hawke’s Bay region, renowned for both its Art Deco architecture and also for its wine industry. It is said to be one of the warmest regions in the country with warm summers and mild winters. Spend a couple of days in Napier and indulge in the gourmet wonders of Hawke’s Bay on a small group tour including a behind the scenes look at a winery and tastings.
Day 14: Wellington
Make your way to and spend the remaining days of your honeymoon at leisure in Wellington. Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, lies at the southern end of the North Island. On the shores of a magnificent harbour and surrounded by the rugged beauty of green hills, it is one of the most scenic cities.
Stay two nights at the QT Museum Hotel, a deluxe art inspired hotel offering impressive harbour views from their bar and restaurant.
