Your Itinerary
Day 1 – Auckland
Arrive into New Zealand’s North Island and the gateway city of Auckland. Choose from our range of Auckland hotels and take time to explore the city at your own pace over the next two days.
Absorb the lively atmosphere of Viaduct Harbour and the newly developed Britomart precinct, or marvel at the panoramic views of the city from the top of the skyline piercing Skytower.
Day 3 - Tauranga
This morning make your way to the motorhome depot for a thorough briefing, collection and orientation of the vehicle before hitting the open road.
Watch the traffic dissipate and the city streets make way for lush green rolling hills and farmland as you journey to the Bay of Plenty and the pretty coastal town on Tauranga for a relaxed overnight stay.
Day 4 to 5 - Rotorua
Travel south towards the fascinating geothermal and cultural capital of Rotorua. A two night stay here will provide time to experience the various attractions available – from relaxing in the local naturally heated geothermal pools, to learning about modern and traditional Maori culture at Te Pui or for the thrill-seekers there is the change to try your hand at Zorbing or white water rafting.
The area is brimming with natural beauty and some expectational walking trails which are free for you to explore and stay amongst in your comfortable motorhome.
Day 6 to 7 – Napier
Continue along the Thermal Highway and choose to stop at the North Island’s largest lake, Lake Taupo on route to Napier.
Napier not only provides visitors with some spectacular sweeping coastal views over beautiful Hawkes Bay, but it also offers a unique glimpse into the past through its appreciation of all things Art Deco.
Spend a relaxed two nights exploring this unique region and getting out into the surrounding area which is home to boutique vineyards and farms selling some of the country’s best fresh produce for you to enjoy in the comfort of your motorhome each day.
Day 8 – Tongariro National Park
Begin the journey west towards the towering volcanic peaks of the Tongariro National Park.
You can choose to extend your stay to allow time to complete all or part of the famous Tongariro Crossing, considered to be one of the country’s Great Walks.
Day 9 – Whanganui
Continue west to spend the night in one of New Zealand’s oldest cities, Whanganui. Wander past picture-perfect heritage buildings, explore world-class museums and established gardens or take in the local art scene which has developed over the years.
To get back to nature, explore the Whanganui National Park and marvel at the towering peaks of Mt Taranaki and Mt Ruapehu on the city’s horizon.
Day 10 – New Plymouth
Travel along the rugged West Coast to New Plymouth for the most specular sunsets.
The city stands in the shadow of Mt Taranaki and is known for its sunny climate, art galleries and beautiful parks. The hiking trails of Egmont National Park are a short drive away and there are some excellent beauty spots for you to spend the night surrounded by.
Day 11 – Waitomo
Stop at Waitomo on your return to Auckland. Be sure to visit the local Glowworm Caves for a unique experience.
For the thrill-seekers there is the chance to try your hand at Black Water Rafting through the caves.
