Kaikoura is framed by the towering Kaikoura Ranges and sits idyllically on its own peninsula lapped by the Pacific Ocean. The town is a haven for marine and bird life – whale watching in Kaikoura is a must, and you will no doubt get a glimpse of the local sea lions and dolphin pods who have made this region their home.
