Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Auckland

On arrival at Auckland Airport transfer by private car to your hotel. Known as the “City of Sails”, Auckland is situated between two harbours and dotted with extinct volcanoes.

Hotel: Grand Millennium Hotel

Day 2 - Karikari Peninsula (330 kms)

This morning make your way to the rental car city depot where you will collect a rental car for your exclusive use.

The journey north will take you past a number of popular seaside spots before reaching Karikari Peninsula with its most amazing beaches, varying from sheltered white sandy coves to rocky coastlines with pounding surf. Once covered in kauri forest, this area was scoured by gum diggers who drained Lake Ohia, and the 30,000-year-old kauri stumps, thus exposed, may be seen from a boardwalk.

Hotel: Carrington Estate, Karikari Peninsula

Day 3 - Carrington Estate Golf Course

Golf today at Carrington Estate Golf Course. This par 72 championship, 6417 metre course is located between sweeping ocean views to the north and east, and hill side vineyards to the south. The course is designed to accommodate golfers of all abilities and offers a great variety of hole play with a terrain ranging from rolling vales to challenging water holes.

Hotel: Carrington Estate

Day 4 - Matakana (280 kms)

Golf today at Kauri Cliffs Golf Course. This par 72 championship, 6510 metre course offers five sets of tees to challenge every skill level and is one of the most visually spectacular golf courses around. Fifteen holes view the Pacific Ocean, six of which are played alongside cliffs which plunge to the sea. The beautiful inland holes wind through marsh, forest and farmland.

Afterwards, return southwards to Matakana. The Matakana Coast offers quaint townships, rolling hills, pristine beaches, orchards, market gardens, unique arts and crafts and exquisite local wines.

Hotel: Sugarloaf Lodge, Matakana

Day 5 - Rotorua (300 kms)

Travel back through the Auckland region and on through farmland, lake land and forest until the distinctive smell of sulphur and constant steam drifts let you know you are in tempestuous, geothermal Rotorua. The afternoon is free to enjoy many of the sights and activities on offers.

Recommended Optional Tour: Maori Hangi Dinner & Concert.

Hotel: Millennium Rotorua
Meals: Breakfast

Day 6 - Taupo (80 kms)

This morning is free for more optional sightseeing. Later, travel on to the lakeside resort town of Lake Taupo where the three volcanic mountains of Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro dominate the scenery.

Hotel: Wairakei Resort, Taupo

Day 7 - Wairakei Golf Course

Enjoy a day of gold at the Wairakei Golf Course. This acclaimed 18-hole course is Par 72 and 6429 metres. Set in 450 acres of beautiful rolling countryside and has three water hazards and 108 bunkers. Developed to meet the rigorous design standards required for world class competition, the end result is a course that sprawls over the property using the natural contours to the fullest.

Hotel: Wairakei Resort, Taupo

Day 8 - Napier (230 kms)

Enjoy the scenery as the road changes from forest to rugged mountain ranges and then to fertile vineyards as you continue on to the Hawke’s Bay, known for its gourmet food and world-class wineries. Afternoon free to enjoy.

Hotel: Crown Hotel, Napier

Day 9 - Cape Kidnappers Golf Course

Today is yours to enjoy a day of golf at Cape Kidnappers Golf Course. Cape Kidnappers is built on a ridge-and-valley landscape with spectacular sea views. The Par 71 course measures 6,510 metres and will challenge golfers of all skill levels. The spectacular course has been hailed as one of the great
modern marvels in golf. Like Kauri Cliffs, Cape Kidnappers plays above the ocean, atop dramatic cliffs but unlike Kauri Cliffs, where the shape of the land dictates play along the shoreline, this course runs to and from the edge.

Hotel: Crown Hotel, Napier

Day 10: Kapiti Coast (265kms)

Today’s journey takes you from the east coast to the west with its spectacular sea vistas, glorious sunsets, untouched native forest and dramatic hillscapes.

Hotel: Greenmantle Estate Boutique Lodge

Day 11 - Wellington (50kms)

Golf today at Paraparaumu Golf Course. A true Scottish links course and considered by many to be New Zealand’s best. The undulating fairways, fierce rough, fast greens and intimidating bunkers at Paraparaumu Beach combine with the naturally windy coastal weather to create a truly challenging golfing experience.

Afterwards, take the short journey down the beautiful coastline to Wellington. New Zealand’s capital city is sophisticated and stylish, offering cultural experiences in a beautiful harbour setting.
Your tour ends here with the return of your rental car to Wellington city or airport depot.
