Your Itinerary

Day 1: Christchurch to Windwhistle (85km)

On arrival at Christchurch Airport a representative from A2B Luxury Lines will meet you at the terminal and assist you to collect your rental car from the Christchurch Airport depot before you and head inland to Windwhistle, home to Terrace Downs. Over the last few million years glacial ice and rivers have diligently built the platform that is Terrace Downs. The terrain they shaped is rugged but beautiful and boasts features nothing short of dramatic. Mountains tower above a verdant and gently undulating valley floor and the spectacular Rakaia River is one day a wild and awesome torrent, the next an azure blue ribbon meandering through the gorge.

Day 2: Windwhistle

Spend today playing golf at the Terrace Downs Golf Course. Terrace Downs offers a par 72, 18-hole championship course that features four different tee positions for the enjoyment of players of all abilities. At a length of 6,406 metres off the back tees, it includes 11 lakes and 70 bunkers. The course offers a unique mixture of Parklands and Links style with the underlying philosophy of the course
development assuring its integration into the natural environment and the respect and enjoyment of all who play on it. The views of the Rakaia Gorge and mountain vistas remain a constant challenge for players to keep their eye on the ball!

Day 3: Windwhistle to Lake Tekapo (180km)

Rich golden landscapes bordered by brightly coloured lupins pave the way for your arrival into the glacial fed turquoise blue Lake Tekapo.

Day 4: Lake Tekapo to Queenstown (255km)

Continue on past beautiful Lake Pukaki and enjoy the breath taking views of mountainous scenery mirrored by crystal clear lake water. A detour to Aoraki Mount Cook is highly recommended before travelling on to Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand. Queenstown is exciting and fantastically scenic.

Day 5: Queenstown

Today you will be playing golf at Millbrook Golf Course. Set in a natural alpine amphitheatre against the backdrop of the Remarkables Mountain Range, the 27 hole course at Millbrook exploits the dramatic terrain fully, delivering world-class golf. Designed by renowned professional and master golfer Sir Bob Charles, this championship course features five different tee positions for complete enjoyment at all levels of playing expertise. Millbrook’s course is best described as a mix between the world-class immaculately manicured “Parklands” courses and “Links” courses, offering a variety of natural hazards including tussocks, streams, schist stone, trees and buildings.

Day 6: Queenstown

Today enjoy a round at Jacks Point Golf Course. With a backdrop of 2300 vertical metres of the razorback Remarkables mountain range and an armchair view of an outstanding lake and mountain panorama, Jack’s Point Golf Course is not only one of the most spectacular in the world, but as an 18 hole par 72 championship course it offers golfers of any calibre a challenging and unforgettable experience. The course works with nature and measures 6388 metres from the championship tees weaves through tussock grasslands, dramatic rock outcrops, steep bluffs and swathes of native bush to the edge of Lake Wakatipu.

Day 7: Queenstown to Wanaka (70km)

The shortest route to the lakeside resort town of Wanaka is over the Crown Range Road. It’s a challenging drive, but the views are amazing (not recommended during winter). More conservative drivers can take the route that runs beside the Shotover River, Lake Dunstan and the Clutha River. The vineyards of the Gibbston area and bungy jumpers at the Kawarau River Bridge may be interesting
distractions along the way.

Day 8: Wanaka to Fox Glacier (260km)

Another memorable trip through magnificent scenery to the West Coast. This remote area has a ruggedly beautiful landscape of vast rainforests, gushing waterfalls and snow capped mountains. The Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers are unique relics of the last ice age and mighty rivers of solid white, tumble down the ice-hewn rock valleys.

Day 9: Fox Glacier to Christchurch (200km)

Drive on to Greymouth and return your rental car to the Greymouth train depot. Board the scenic Tranz Alpine train, a journey famous for its spectacular mountain scenery as it traverses the Southern Alps to Christchurch. On arrival in Christchurch you will be transferred to your accommodation.

Day 10: Christchurch

Golf today at Clearwater Resort Golf Course. The par 72 championship course has established itself as an international professional golf tournament venue and the course combines elements of links golf inspired by the great Scottish courses with parkland golf, more reminiscent of Florida. Playable year-round, the course meanders around a succession of spring-fed lakes and trout-filled streams, with
uninterrupted views of the spectacular Southern Alps. There are five tee positions to suit players of all abilities.
