Your TranzAlpine Experience
Travel by coach to Springfield at the foot of the Southern Alps where you will board the scenic TranzAlpine train to Arthur’s Pass. Hailed as one of the top ten train journeys in the world, you will be able to enjoy the alpine landscape from the train’s panoramic windows and viewing platform.
At Arthur’s Pass you will travel by road over the Southern Alps to the Otira Gorge with lots of photo opportunities along the way. Following lunch there is the chance to explore the village of Arthur’s Pass and its surrounds.
On your return journey back to Christchurch by road, you will stop for an exhilarating jet boat ride through the gorges of the Waimakariri River. There is also a visit to a farm for late afternoon tea, followed by a sheep shearing and mustering demonstration.
