Carol and Bernie’s Round the World Trip

Our Round the World trip went like clockwork and we enjoyed every bit of it. The Paradox Hotel in Singapore was brilliant, centrally placed for most attractions in the city centre. The highlights of the trip – hard to say all of it was good.

Everywhere we went in New Zealand we saw stunning scenery and interesting places. For me I suppose was the flight over Mount Cook and the Franz Josef Glaciers. We loved Dunedin and the Cook Islands and loved San Francisco to finish with, so lots of highlights and wonderful memories.

Carol and Bernie travelled to Singapore, New Zealand, the Cook Islands and San Francisco in November and December 2025.

Steven’s holiday to Bangkok, New Zealand & Dubai

Freedom Destinations advised me on what, when and where was best for my 5 week holiday in Bangkok, New Zealand (motorhome) and Dubai and everything went exactly to plan.

New Zealand is beautiful. There’s so much to do it is hard to name everything, so Hokitika Gorge is stunning, Lake Taupo plane flight (we saw the plane fly over the lake and 20 minutes later we were in the plane bouncing along the water and then in the air flying over the lake and the town). Brilliant.

The temples in Thailand were amazing, the Wat Arun Ratchawararam temples are an incredible sight to see. The detail of the decoration of the temples are mind boggling.

Dubai I would describe as a mix of Las Vegas and Monte Carlo. The whole Emirate has been built to be the biggest, the longest, the highest. It’s an experience I would recommend to anyone.

Jon’s holiday on the Indian Pacific in Australia

The Indian Pacific was a terrific experience and a great way of appreciating the vastness of Australia and the variety of landscapes, such as the desert and the salt flats shown in the photos. You can also see the train ready to leave Perth, the bar on the train, signage at Adelaide station and a kangaroo watching the train go by.

You have to be prepared not to get the best night’s sleep on the 4 nights of the journey, but the excursions provided are very interesting and the all inclusive food and drink is excellent.

Highlights in Adelaide included a tour of the South Australian parliament, playing golf at a local course, completing a Park Run along the River Torrens, touring the Adelaide Oval and visiting Henley Beach, where I paddled in the Southern Ocean.

All in all a great 2 weeks, part of a 7 week stay in Australia that I will remember forever!

Liz’s Holiday to Zimbabwe & Botswana

All the lodges had a different character but were all excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful – especially Masuwe Lodge, who welcome you in to the Masuwe family with singing and drumming.

Transfers and trips went smoothly – seeing Victoria Falls from the helicopter was unforgettable. The landscapes and wildlife were amazing and I learned a lot from the guides. I saw 2 elephants within 10 mins of leaving Vic Falls airport! 🐘

The journey from Tlouwana Camp to Chobe is 45 mins of very bumpy tracks but still lots of wildlife to see en route and worth it to get to the park. This is not a complaint, just thinking it might not be comfortable for some people.

I would especially encourage solo travellers to book similar trips, as you are well looked after, and get to meet friendly people during your adventure. It was a truly memorable holiday of a lifetime.

Karen’s Holiday to Canada

We had a fantastic bucket list holiday from start to finish. Everything went smoothly. Started in Vancouver where we had 2 days to do our own thing.

Then on to the train. Staff on Rocky Mountaineer were friendly helpful and polite. The food was delicious and plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble. We had tours booked afterwards in Jasper and Lake Louise, visiting lakes, mountains and waterfalls. The Icefield Parkway took us to the Skywalk which is a horseshoe glass platform. Views are amazing. Also the ice glacier where we were able to collect pure water straight from the ice for our water bottles.

All the spectacular scenery has to been seen as photos definitely do not do it justice. Tour operators were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to help. This is a must do trip once in your lifetime.

Knight Family Holiday to California

Everything went very smoothly and we collected the RV the day after we landed in LA, from here we visited; San Diego, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Pioneer town, Las Vegas, Bakersfield, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Monterey and Carmel by Sea, Ventura and Santa Barbara. We took the RV back to LA then caught an Uber to Santa Monica beach and pier.

We all very much enjoyed all 3 weeks and did a lot of activities including canoeing on Lake Tahoe at 6.15 in morning with snow covered mountains in 20 degree heat, horse riding, and biking over the Golden Gate Bridge and a lot of other stuff. I really wanted to see some bears, I got told I would definitely see some around Lake Tahoe, so we hired electric bikes and I decided to go out at 5.30am and try and find some bears. Whilst riding around I found a bear with her 3 cubs which was just fascinating and I stayed and watched the bear cubs playing until mummy bear decided to warn me off 😬😂.

Andrew’s Holiday to Kenya

Everything went smoothly from transfers to train journey and game drives. Our beach stay at Sarova Whitesands was beautiful. The excellent staff making you feel so welcome on such a large resort. The well kept gardens right to the white powdery beach front, stunning.

A big shout out to Pollmans Safaris, especially our driver Hassan. His knowledge and expertise was second to none and made our safari a dream.

David & Mandy’s Honeymoon to Borneo & Bali

We have just got back from Borneo and Bali. The honeymoon was amazing with stunning hotels and ran really smoothly with the help of Freedom Destinations’ very professional partners in both destinations. There were so many highlights but I guess I would say our boat trips along the Kinabatangan River in Borneo where we saw orangutans, elephants, proboscis monkeys and crocodiles in the wild was definitely one.

In Bali the elephant mud fun at Bali Zoo and both the Monkey Forest and Water Palace in Ubud were also amazing.

Stuart’s Great American West Road Trip

Went with Freedom Destinations in the summer and toured the Wild West; Denver to Salt Lake City and it was amazing! Special mentions go to Deadwood, Cody and Yellowstone. Deadwood was an amazing day, from learning about Wild Bill Hickok and the gold rush, to going to a show, a hugely entertaining day. Cody was quite different; we went to see the rodeo, fired a gatling gun, and spent a good few hours learning about another Wild West legend, Buffalo Bill.

As for Yellowstone, it really is incomparable, both the wild animals and the scenery I’ve never seen anywhere like it! The bison are well worth a mention here! We made the effort as well to see the cars racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats, again this was a slice of luck that our holiday coincided with the speed week.

In a nutshell I’d recommend this part of the Wild West to everyone; so much to see and do. Where else can you see baseball one day and a bison the next? It also felt very, very safe – at no point did we feel uneasy and the local US people were all super friendly – a lot had never seen anyone from the UK before. You won’t be disappointed, a holiday of a lifetime.

Yvonne’s holiday to Canada

My friend and I just completed a 3 week east to west coast trip, including Vancouver Island from Halifax. Everything was superb. Everything on time, accommodations excellent and all trips exactly as stated and on time. I have recommended this company to many friends who followed our travels. Thank you Freedom we are now looking at Alaska and the Yukon with them.
