Day 2 – Columbia River Gorge

This morning transfer from your downtown hotel to the motorhome depot to collect your chosen ‘RV’….

This morning transfer from your downtown hotel to the motorhome depot to collect your chosen ‘RV’. You will be shown around your vehicle before your depart on your adventure.

Today’s route is relatively short but still spectacular and sets the tone for the rest of your Oregon Motorhome holiday. Begin by heading east out of Portland alongside the Columbia River. Turn off the main highway where signposted to join the ‘Historic Columbia River Highway’ for spectacular scenic views over the river.

Continue to Crown Point Vista House for panoramic gorge views. You can then choose to stop and hike to Bridal Veil Falls, Wahkeena Falls, and the iconic Multnomah Falls, Oregon’s most photographed waterfall, that cascades 620 feet in two dramatic tiers.

The charming town of Hood River offers excellent riverside eateries and local craft breweries. Conclude your day in The Dalles, a historic frontier town with excellent museums and antique shops, perfectly positioned for exploring the eastern gorge tomorrow.
