From the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre, you’ll travel in a custom-built all-terrain Ice Explorer along a frozen roadway onto the Athabasca Glacier, with insightful commentary from your expert guide en route. At the glacier you’ll be able to disembark, to walk on the ancient ice, that is deep enough to bury the Eiffel Tower, and soak in the sheer size and majesty of the Columbia Icefield and Canadian Rockies.

Next it’s onto the the start of the Discovery Trail, a short shuttle ride from the Discovery Centre. Follow the fully accessible 450 metre pathway along the cliff edge to reach the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, a beautifully designed, glass-floored observation platform that extends 30 metres from the cliff face and offers an unbelievable panoramic view of the Sunwapta Valley 280 metres below.
