Description

This tour offers a wonderful opportunity to spot Canada’s iconic wildlife.

Departing from Jasper, your experienced local ranger will take you into the wilds of the National Park, choosing a route based on recent animal sightings and their expert local knowledge (as well as the weather!).

You’ll have a great chance to see grizzly and/or black bears, especially in early Summer and Autumn when they roam the valley floor in search of food. Moose, elk, deer, big horned sheep and mountain goats are also commonly sighted, with foxes, coyotes and wolves sometimes making an appearance.

The scenery is spectacular; towering peaks running either side of the Athabasca Valley, where thick forests meet the banks of the Athabasca River as it weaves its way along the valley floor, fed by melt water from the Rockies.

Please note, while Jasper is one of the premier year-round wildlife viewing destinations in all of Western Canada, the most successful summer viewing months are May, June, September and October. The larger animals in the park can be more elusive during July and August but stunning photo opportunities abound. Outdoor clothing and walking shoes are recommended.
