Description

Enjoy a captivating 90-minute cruise of the largest glacially fed lake in the Canadian Rockies, Maligne Lake. The journey is fully narrated, with expert Heritage Tourism Guides sharing stories about the history, wildlife and geology of the Maligne Valley. As you go, the guide will also point out sightings of eagles, deer, mountain goats and, occasionally, bears, so make sure to keep an eye on the shoreline.

The cruise takes you to Spirit Island, a tiny tree-covered peninsula that can only be reached from the water. Here, you can step ashore for a leisurely nature walk to the iconic viewpoint. It’s easy to see why it’s one of the most photographed spots in the world, the island sits against a backdrop of turquoise water and Rocky Mountain peaks.

As you head back to the boathouse, you can enjoy a drink or a snack amongst the spectacular views at nearby Maligne Lodge.
