Peak2Peak Gondola

Summer Alpine Experience

Breathe in the mountain air from on top of two of British Columbia’s most famous mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb. Ride the Peak2Peak gondola that connects the two mountain tops, providing spectacular views all the way to the valley below.

Highlights
  • Ride the world’s longest unsupported cable-car, 1427 feet above the valley
  • Ride the express chairlift to walk across the elevated Cloudraker Skybridge
  • Relax as you ride up/down both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains
  • Keep an eye out for bears & other wildlife from your aerial viewpoint
  • Hike some of the many trails available at the top of Blackcomb and Whistler

Description

The Peak2Peak Gondola links Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, carrying visitors between the two peaks in around 11 minutes. It holds the Guinness World Record for the longest unsupported span on a gondola lift, travelling high above the valley floor with views over the Coast Mountains. Some cabins have glass floors, giving an uninterrupted view straight down.

For the full ‘Summer Alpine Experience’, we recommend starting with the ascent up Blackcomb Mountain to Rendezvous Lodge, keeping an eye on the slopes below for possible sightings of black bears. From here, you can walk some of the alpine trails before crossing to Whistler’s Roundhouse Lodge via the Peak2Peak Gondola. The express chairlift then takes you higher still (weather permitting) up to the Cloudraker Skybridge and Raven’s Eye Lookout, a suspension bridge and viewpoint set among the peaks with views across glaciers and the surrounding mountain ranges. The return journey is back down via the gondola into Whistler Village.

It’s a full day out in the mountains, combining scenery, engineering and genuine thrills, ideal for travellers who want to get the best views without a full day of hiking.
