The main lodge overlooks the North Saskatchewan River, a historic travel route used by Métis families. The King and Family Suites are sleek and minimal in their design, offering modern amenities. Room amenities include a fridge, a coffee maker (upon request) and a private patio.

These glamping pods have transparent ceilings, designed for stargazing. In rural Alberta, the views of the night sky are absolutely spectacular. The domes have heated floors, a kitchenette, a private bathroom and running water.

The sky, stars and constellations acted as guiding lights for the region’s Métis anscestors, acting as a clock, a calendar, and a guide as to where to plant and hunt.

The larger Sky Watching Cabins are perfect for a family, sleeping up to six guests. There is a king bedroom, bunk beds and a pull out couch (at request). They’re equipped with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay, with heated floors, a kitchenette, a private bathroom and a patio.

Bistro at the Lodge – The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with its menu taking inspiration from Indigenous cuisine. You can expect hearty meals created with local ingredients. Throughout the year, there are also a range of culinary events that are hosted, with long table dinners, storytelling, music and cooking demonstrations.

Wildlife Tour – Led by an expert guide, go on an SUV tour to Métis Crossing Wildlife Park, home to white bison, wood bison, plains bison, elk and Percheron horses.

Archery – Learn about traditional Métis hunting as you have a go at archery. Explore riverside trails as you go.

Canoeing – The ‘paddle into the past’ experience takes you along part of the route that was used for the fur trade. Enjoy the great outdoros as you learn about its history.

Nature Walk – Following the trajectory of the North Saskatchewan River, learn about the area’s native plants and their importance to the Métis people.
