Undoubtedly one of the most unique places to stay in Nova Scotia!

Train Station Inn is a collection of lovingly restored boxcars and cabooses; authentic on the outside, cleverly converted into boutique suites on the inside, with reflections of their railway past throughout.

Each caboose is different. Caboose #9 has a private deck, Boxcar ‘Jane’ its own front lawn, and Boxcar ‘Jimmie’ a queen bed on the main floor, and single mattress in the loft – great for a teenager.

In the 19th Century station itself, there is a café, that serves fresh coffee and baked treats, and a wonderful gift shop, selling all sorts of quirky railway memorabilia.

Lunch and dinner are on offer in the Dining Car (reservations recommended), and local craft beer and cider in the Baggage Room Bar.

Throughout the season, there is regular live music on the station platform, and events and performances in the arts centre directly next door.

Train Station Inn sits on the Trans Canada Trail, which follows the route of the old railway line. In the village of Tatamagouche you’ll find more cafés and bakeries, galleries and antique shops, a pharmacy and grocery store.

Each of the 10 cabooses or box cars are unique, some perfect for couples and others for families. All have a private washroom and some a kitchenette.
