Make your way to Campbell River on Vancouver Island and check-in at the Comfort Inn & Suites.
- If you on a self drive or motorhome tour then secure parking is available for the duration of your stay.
- If you are flying in directly to Campbell River, from Vancouver, then transfers from the airport to the hotel can be included.

Day 2 – Welcome to Knight Inlet
You will be collected from the hotel and transferred to the float plane terminal in Campbell River first thing in the morning. Board the float plane for your 25-minute scenic flight to Knight Inlet Lodge.
On arrival at Knight Inlet Lodge, you will be greeted, checked-in and shown to your your room. All guest rooms have two queen beds with private washroom and shower (except family rooms which have one queen and two twin beds). The lodge also has a communal dining room where, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served, as well as a terrace where guests can mingle before or after meals.
Your time at Knight Inlet Lodge will begin with a staff welcome and wildlife orientation before beginning activities, which usually starts with an estuary boat tour to get a first glimpse of the bears. After lunch there will be more opportunities to view the bears, including a visit to the viewing platforms in the autumn months.
Following a hearty evening meal, guests are invited to join a talk about the local wildlife by one of the resident naturalists.

Day 3 – Nature Activities
After enjoying another hearty breakfast at the lodge guests have the choice of activities throughout the day.
- Guided bear watching tours by boat (or to the platforms during late summer and autumn)
- A two hour scenic cruise around the inlet with an expert guide, viewing waterfalls, glaciers and hopefully other wildlife including eagles, seals and whales
- Guided hiking tour through the rainforest. The route follows a river to view waterfalls, whilst your guide will point out giant moss-covered trees, unique plant life and other animals
- Interpretive tracking; Travel with a guide in a vehicle along an old forestry track to look for signs of bear activity such as day beds, rub trees and bear tracks. You will also learn about the bear research completed from the lodge
- Sea kayaking on the inlet. Your trained guides can assist with the fundamentals of kayaking, before you can explore the shoreline looking for black and grizzly bears and other wildlife.
All meals are provided between activities, and waterproofs and boots will be provided where necessary.

Day 4 – Farewell to Knight Inlet Lodge
Following breakfast and the possibility of some last bear sightings, watch the float plane land on the inlet, before boarding and your return flight back to Campbell River.
Once back at Campbell River you are free to continue your journey, or be transferred back to Campbell River Airport to return to Vancouver.
