Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Calgary

Welcome to beautiful Canada. Get settled in at your hotel, located in the heart of downtown Calgary, and spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring. At 6 p.m., gather at the hotel with your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception.

Day 2 - Jasper National Park (via Lake Louise)

Head west into the Canadian Rockies and stop at the ‘Jewel of the Canadian Rockies’, Lake Louise, one of the most beautiful lakes in North America with its backdrop of glistening Victoria Glacier. Continue along the stunning Icefields Parkway, driving alongside snowcapped peaks, thundering waterfalls and glistening glaciers. Keep an eye out for wildlife including grizzly and black bears, moose, elk and mountain goats. Tonight, stay in the quaint town of Jasper.

Day 3 - Jasper National Park

Start the day with a free morning, enjoying the superb vistas or strolling Jasper’s picturesque streets. This afternoon, enjoy a guided walk at Maligne Canyon, one of the most beautiful gorges in the Rockies. Learn about the underground river system while following the canyon’s trail past waterfalls and jagged rock formations. Later this afternoon, cruise Maligne Lake (seasonal), followed by a Regional Meal.

Optional: Jasper Float Trip

Join the fun and experience an easy rafting / scenic float trip down the Athabasca River, a designated Canadian Heritage River. A National Park licensed guide will provide commentary on the human and natural history of Jasper while navigating you along the same route used by the “fur traders” over 2 centuries ago. Lifejackets and the specially designed, 25 foot (7 meter) long, oar powered rafts; offer a safe and comfortable ride through several small, easy sets of rapids and calm stretches that any first time rafter will enjoy.

Don’t worry the guides do all the rowing; you sit back and enjoy while exploring all the spectacular scenery drifting down a route that was used by fur traders many years ago. There is always a chance of seeing various wildlife including elk, deer, moose, coyotes, wolves, eagles, ospreys, mountain sheep and bears. Tours will operate rain or shine, and a poncho will be provided when required. Approx. duration: 50-90 minutes

Day 4 - Banff National Park (via Athabasca Glacier)

This morning, stop at the Columbia Icefield Visitor Center and step aboard an Ice Explorer, a massive vehicle specially designed for travelling on the surface of glaciers. Travel across the massive Athabasca Glacier as you learn a wealth of fascinating information about glaciers, icefields and their impact on the environment. Later, arrive in the quintessential alpine village of Banff. This evening, before dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to meet a Royal Canadian Mountie, dressed in the traditional red serge uniform. This Local Specialist will share exciting and colourful stories and even pose for a few memorable photos.

Day 5 - Banff National Park

Stop in Canmore for a unique experience: a chance to experience the thrill and excitement of being a real Canadian hockey player. Whether you have skated before or not, played hockey on or off the ice, this Cultural Insight is your chance to spend time getting to know Canada’s game. Learn the secrets and superstitions of hockey players as a professional coach walks you through a day in the life of a player.

Go inside the players’ dressing room where you have the opportunity to try on full hockey gear. Grab your stick and it’s off onto the ice. Find out whether you are lefty or righty and how to score the big goal. Leaving the ice rink behind, immerse yourself in the nature’s glory on a sightseeing excursion around Banff, including the classic viewpoint of Surprise Corner, spectacular Bow Falls and the hoodoo rock formations. The rest of the day is yours.

Optional: Brewster Banff Gondola

At the Banff Gondola, you’ll see more mountains in a moment than most see in a lifetime! Ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain to experience a bird’s eye view of six mountain ranges of the Canadian Rockies. Begin with an eight-minute journey to the summit in a fully enclosed four-passenger gondola cabin. The views become increasingly spectacular as you climb to an elevation of 7,486 feet (2,281 meters) to the Summit Upper Terminal. Witness the breathtaking views in every direction or go to the restaurant area to enjoy the views inside or from its upper deck. You can also take the Banff Skywalk for a short self-guided interpretive walkway along the summit ridge leading to the Cosmic Ray Station National Historic Site of Canada. Subject to weather conditions. Approx. duration: 2.5 hours.

Day 6 - Banff National Park

This morning, the options are plentiful-perhaps join an optional excursion to Yoho National Park and Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Enjoy an optional helicopter flightseeing tour for a bird’s-eye view of the Canadian Rockies before travelling to the Guinn family ranch for a special Be My Guest Farewell Dinner. Enjoy pristine views and abundant wildlife during a horse-drawn wagon ride. After dinner, enjoy a private country line-dancing lesson.

Optional: Royal Canadian Tour 25 mins

This journey will only enhance the Three Sisters Peaks Tour by exploring the Goat and Sundance Ranges of the Rocky Mountains. You will see mountain peaks, alpine meadows, waterfalls and untouched glacier lakes. Perhaps even a glimpse of some wildlife. It’s an extraordinary adventure not to be missed.

Optional: Mt. Assiniboine Tour 30 mins

You are in for something special as you are transported to Mount Assiniboine – “the Matterhorn” of the Canadian Rockies. Our most popular adventure has all the fantastic scenery of the previous tours plus a fly by over top of the glacier. This photogenic peak rises majestically to 3,611meters (11,870 feet) along the Great Divide. The Gloria and Assiniboine Glaciers will astound you. This is an experience you will never forget! Approx. duration: 30 minutes.

Optional: Three Sisters Peak Tour 12 mins

The most action-packed twelve minutes of your life. Get up close and personal with the world famous Three Sisters Peaks. Reach out and touch them as you whisk by before escaping into the Spray Valley where you will explore the extraordinary hues of the Spray Lakes. Your return flight travels along the Goat Range before following the pristine Bow River back to Canmore.

Optional: Yoho National Park and Moraine Lake Excursion

Explore the jewels of the Rockies, and head to Yoho National Park and Moraine Lake in the Valley of Ten Peaks. See Takakkaw Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in British Columbia. Straddle the continental divide at kicking Horse Pass as you head to view the Spiral Tunnels, the famous railway built in the early 1900’s. Approx. duration: 4 hours.

Day 7 - Depart Calgary

Descend from the glorious Canadian Rockies and transfer to Calgary International Airport or to the Delta Calgary Downtown, if you are extending your stay.
