| Anchorage to Seward
Arriving at Anchorage Airport, begin your journey with a scenic transfer through the Kenai Peninsula – widely regarded as some of the most awe-inspiring backcountry scenery in the world. This beautiful route winds past mountains, glaciers, and coastal vistas as you travel to the Pacific coast and the port of Seward.
Seward is the only deep-water, ice-free port in Alaska with road, rail, and air connections to the interior. Here, you’ll board the MS Roald Amundsen, find your cabin, and take time to explore the ship’s spacious, comfortable facilities – your home for the next two weeks of expedition cruising.

Day 2 – Prince William Sound
Today is dedicated to exploring the glaciers of Prince William Sound, home to over 150 glaciers, including 17 spectacular tidewater glaciers. Your Captain will select the best location based on the day’s conditions, ensuring the most memorable experience.
You’ll venture as close as safety allows, using small expedition boats to enter the fjords, or taking to the water by kayak if weather permits. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife in this icy wilderness – humpback whales, bald eagles, sea otters, and harbour seals all thrive here.

| Icy Strait
Today you’ll continue the exploration as you sail into Icy Strait, navigating among its islands and islets. Weather and sea conditions will guide the choice of location, with opportunities to approach rocky shores by expedition boat, and possibly make a landing for a guided nature walk. The coastline here becomes increasingly rugged as it meets the open sea, revealing rocky pinnacles and hidden sea caves.

| Inside Passage

The island’s original name, Taan, means “sea lion” in the Łingít language. At the town’s Totem Park, you’ll find 21 beautifully carved poles, including replicas of historic originals that once stood in the winter village of Tuxecan.
