Your Ghan Rail Journey
All aboard for one of Australia’s most memorable and authentic outback experience as you journey from Australia’s lush and expansive Top End in the Northern Territory, to its vibrant and iconic Red Centre and onto its final destination, Adelaide.
Journey Description
Board the kilometre long Ghan as it begins its journey towards Katherine. Experience one of the region’s most impressive natural wonders – the Nitmiluk Gorge, then join a scenic cruise through the towering gorge walls and learn more about the importance of this spiritual and awe-inspiring place.
In the afternoon, relax back on board and enjoy a drink in the lounge or in the comfort of your cabin before a delicious three course dinner.
The next morning gives way to your arrival into Alice Springs. Here there is a choice of off train experiences to explore this iconic outback township. Explore Simpsons Gap, tour the town attractions, or get up close to some of the Red Centre’s native wildlife. Dinner on the train is followed by an extraordinary evening experience at Manguri in the heart of the South Australian outback.
It’s day 3 and from your cabin window this morning you’ll see a dramatic change in landscape. Enjoy a leisurely brunch as you pass through the majestic Flinders Ranges and prepare for your mid-morning arrival into Adelaide.
In South Australia’s capital city, you can extend your holiday with a Kangaroo Island getaway, wine experiences within the Barossa and Clare Valley or a self drive up to the Flinders Ranges.
