Description

Ubud is one of the most attractive towns in Bali and a ‘must-see’ for anyone visiting the island. Your tour of the cultural heartland of Bali starts with a visit to Neka Art Museum, where the collection of art on display is inspired by the natural beauty, life and culture of Bali.

Enjoy a stroll through central Ubud, where you will pass through the local market and visit Ubud Palace. The local royal family still reside in the palace but you are free to wander around the majority of the compound, discovering the ornate architecture and learning about the Asta Kosala Kosali tradition of house building, a method not dissimilar to the ancient art of Feng Shui. Finally, you will have some free time to explore the numerous shops and boutiques in the centre of town.

From April 2026 this tour will have a revised itinerary as below:

Begin your tour with a visit to the Neka Art Museum, which displays a collection of art inspired by the natural beauty, life, and culture of Bali. You can also see the museum’s wonderful collection of keris, the often beautifully crafted dagger that is strongly associated with the culture of Indonesia. Continue your tour with a stroll through central Ubud including a visit to the Threads of Life Arts Centre, where you can learn about traditional methods of producing Indonesian textiles.

Afterwards, drive to ARMA Museum to experience a hands-on cultural woodcarving workshop where you will be introduced to some of the basic concepts behind modeling objects in wood with an expert. Wrapping up your workshop session, enjoy dinner at the local restaurant, before driving to the center of Ubud to watch traditional Balinese dance performance.
