Holidays to Laos 2025 & 2026
Serene and unspoilt, to visit Laos is to step back in time. This is a land of rural villages, ancient temples, raging rivers and rugged, forest-clad mountains that will fascinate and delight you.
Affectionately known as ‘The Land of a Million Elephants’, Laos had for a long time kept its treasures and fabulous scenery a closely guarded secret.
Vientiane
Vientiane is the country’s relaxed capital city with tree-lined boulevards, trendy cafes and open air restaurants that line the Mekong River. The diverse mix of architectural styles, from Russian to French, offer a historical narrative to the country’s fortunes, but most stunning of all is the Pha That Luang temple with its golden spires.
Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang is the former royal capital and, under UNESCO protection, retains much of its original charm. Traditional wooden houses mingle with French colonial villas and magnificent temples. Walk up Phu Si Hill for magnificent views over the town, or rise early to witness the alms ceremony where hundreds of monks walk through the streets collecting food. The surrounding countryside offers picturesque waterfalls, traditional villages and sacred sites such as the Pak Ou Caves.
Multi Centre Laos Holidays
For a South East Asian adventure, why not combine Laos with Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia? Travelling through the countryside of Northern Thailand to Huay Xai on the Laos border, you can join a cruise on the Mekong River to Luang Prabang. There are direct flights from both Luang Prabang and Vientiane to Hanoi in Vietnam, the gateway to Halong Bay or the impressive rice terraces of Sapa.
Our Asia Experts have travelled all over South East Asia and would be delighted to use their first-hand experience to help you plan an unforgettable Laos holiday for 2025 or 2026.
