Holidays to Tanzania
There can be few places on earth with the diversity of this fabulous East African nation. From the snowy peak of Kilimanjaro to the golden sandy beaches of Zanzibar, a holiday to Tanzania is quite extraordinary.
Wide open plains which abound with wildlife, volcanic craters and lush forests are all waiting to be discovered on a Tanzanian safari. Heading out in the early morning or late afternoon in search of game is the most exciting part of a safari and spotting that first lion or elephant is a truly memorable experience.
Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is possibly one of the best wildlife viewing regions in the world, particularly during the wildebeest migration which moves through the park November to July. The open nature of the terrain makes it easy to spot large prides of lions and a huge variety of other plains animals. On the edge of the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater attracts both bird and wildlife with its permanent lakes, swamps and tropical forests.
Pink Flamingos
East of the Serengeti, on the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, is beautiful Lake Manyara. Large flocks of pink flamingos come to the lake to feed, along with a profusion of other wildlife. Nearby Tarangire National Park is famed for its unique baobab trees and large herds of elephant, zebra and other animals.
Indian Ocean Bliss
When the safari is over, however, the warm waters of the Indian Ocean await. The old spice island of Zanzibar offers a fascinating mix of cultures, incredible beaches and top class resorts, and makes a perfect combination with the mainland’s wildlife.
