Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to relax, unwind and prepare for your safari adventure.

Arusha Coffee Lodge: (Standard – 2019 departures) Located on the outskirts of Arusha, amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations. The 30 cottage style rooms radiate out the estate and have a cosy log fire.

Four Points by Sheraton (Standard – 2020 departures) Established in 1894, offers a traditional ambience and beautiful gardens containing a swimming pool. The central city location means it is easy to explore the area on foot.

Ilboru Safari Lodge: (Boutique) Nestled on the lower slopes of Mt. Meru on the outskirts of Arusha and features an impressive 22m swimming pool.

Arusha Serena Lodge: (Premium) Overlooking Lake Duluti and offers cottage-style rooms amongst the tranquil gardens.

Day 2 - lake Manyara

Enjoy a morning at leisure with a safari briefing and lunch to follow. Later, depart Arusha and head off through Masai steppe filled with picturesque villages on your way to Lake Manyara and your characterful lodge for the night.

Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge: (Standard) Nestled on the rim of the Great African Rift Valley with stunning views over Lake Manyara, the Lodge is set in charming landscaped gardens visited by over 130 species of birds. The rooms are decorated in elegant African style and have a private outdoor deck.

Lake Manyara Wildlife Camp: (Boutique) Comprising of ten canvas tented lodgings and sixteen self-contained cottages, all with private balconies overlooking the lake.

Serena Manyara: (Premium) Positioned on top of the towering Mto wa Mbu escarpment, offering spectacular views over the lake. The rooms are housed in circular two-storey “rondavels”, with a blend of traditional and contemporary decor.

Day 3 - Serengeti National Park

This morning descend the escarpment on a game drive into the Lake Manyara National Park to seek out the prolific animal and birdlife in the forests and by the lake shore. After lunch back at the lodge, begin the scenic journey through the Crater Highlands and on through the vast game-filled plains of the famous Serengeti National Park, approximately four hours away.

Serengeti Sopa Lodge: (Standard) Overlooking the plains of the south-western Serengeti and offers African inspired rooms each with a verandah for enjoying the views and watching the spectacular sunset.

Kati Kati: (Boutique) is located in the central Serengeti and offers comfortable tented accommodation with bucket showers, flush toilets and solar-powered electricity. Meals are served in a cosy mess tent and a campfire provides a cosy ambience for pre-dinner drinks.

Serena Lodge: (Premium) Seamlessly blending into an acacia-lined ridge, offering panoramic views from its characterful stone-built, thatched ‘rondavels’.

Day 4 - Serengeti National Park

Today enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti. Scene of many wildlife documentaries, this park has thrilled travellers and writers for generations with its annual wildebeest and zebra migration. Vast herds follow the rains looking for fresh pastures whilst in hot pursuit are the big cats, picking off their prey – a magical sight to see!

You are sure to see some of Africa’s Big 5 today so don’t forget to take binoculars and camera.

Day 5 - Ngorongoro Crater

Today leave the Serengeti behind and head for the Ngorongoro Crater with a stop en route for a picnic lunch. Enjoy beautiful scenery, as the grassy plains give way to the lush mountain greenery of the Crater Highlands. A stop is made at a Masai village before arriving at your lodge set high on the rim of the crater.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge: (Standard) Located on the eastern rim of the crater and enjoys unparalleled views across the Crater and magical sunsets. The rooms are themed around traditional circular houses with conical roofs.

Ngorongoro Farm House: (Boutique) Facing the Oldeani Volcano and is 5 km from the park gate. Built in the style of an old colonial farmhouse with local materials and rustically decorated interiors to give that ambience of days gone by.

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge: (Premium) Blending into the hillside with its rocky facade cloaked in indigenous vines. The rooms  are looped around the Crater rim, each with its own rock-enclosed balcony and wonderful views of the crater below.

Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater

Spend a full day inside the Crater with a picnic lunch. With its stunning scenery and plentiful wildlife, it’s not hard to see why Ngorongoro is rated one of the top destinations in Africa and now included in the seven natural wonders of the world. The Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and is home to a diverse range of habitats including forest, swamps, lakes and open grasslands.

Day 7 - Tarangire National Park

Your journey begins this morning with a three hour scenic drive to the beautiful Tarangire National Park. After lunch at your lodge head out on your first game drive. The park is famous for its large elephant population as well as zebra, giraffe and other plains animals. In the evening swap tales of your big game adventures with other travellers over dinner at your lodge.

Tarangire Sopa Lodge: (Standard and Premium) Hidden among the kopjes and ancient baobab of the park, the comfortable rooms are housed in buildings with conical roofs and there is an outdoor pool to cool off in on those hot afternoons.

Lake Burunge Tented Camp: (Boutique) Located on the shores of Lake Burunge in the migratory corridor between Manyara and Tarangire. There are 20 luxury tents and 10 thatched lodge rooms nestled in the shady bush with spectacular views towards Tarangire National Park and the lake.

Day 8 - Arusha and farewell

After breakfast it is time to head back to Arusha, where your safari concludes after lunch. You can extend your stay in Arusha or head off to the beautiful Indian Ocean island of Zanzibar for a relaxing stay at a beachfront resort.
