Your Ghan Rail Journey

Journey on the mighty Ghan train as it meanders on its South bound journey from the rich sands of the Red Centre to the lush green pastoral hills of South Australia and eventually onto its capital city, Adelaide, on this two day scenic rail journey.

Journey Description

The journey begins as you board the train at Alice Springs at midday. Settle into your private cabin and watch the beauty of the outback unfold from your window. Make the most of the Explorers Lounge to enjoy an inclusive beverage and here travel stories from fellow guests.

After your fine dining dinner experience in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant, the Ghan stops at Manguri for you to be able to disembark and take in the wonder of the night sky over the outback. Watch the landscape begin to undulate as you wake to a delicious breakfast whilst travelling through the Flinders Ranges. The expansive mountain ranges soon give way to the rolling pastoral scenes of South Australia.

Relax as the train weaves its way to Adelaide, arriving by early afternoon.

Thursday evening – Manguri Experience
Friday 13:00 – Arrive Adelaide

The reverse journey, from Adelaide to Alice Springs operates more regularly.
