Your experience begins at the Darwin Convention Centre for a welcome experience where you will check in, enjoy a light breakfast and witness a special Welcome to Country ceremony.
After a short transfer to Darwin’s Berrimah Terminal on the outskirts of the city, board The Ghan and settle into your cabin.

After lunch onboard, arrive into Katherine where you can join an excursion to the wonderous Nitmiluk Gorge for an afternoon boat cruise on which you’ll learn about the area’s rich indigenous history through the historic rock art still visible today.

Back on the train, relax as you continue south, getting to know your fellow travellers over dinner, or in the onboard lounge.

Wake to the mesmerising sight of the Red Centre as you approach Alice Springs, arriving after breakfast on board.

A choice of Gold or Platinum Service is available on The Ghan train between Darwin and Alice Springs.

The Ghan Darwin to Alice Springs train is scheduled to operate in March and November in 2025 and 2026, departing on Wednesday.
