Meandering along the riverbank with stunning views, the lodge is ideally placed to make the most of the game-rich floodplain. It is located close to the entrance to the park which supports a vast array of wildlife including lion, elephant, wild dog and hyena, and is renowned for its leopard sightings.

Central to the lodge is a relaxing lounge and dining area, thatched in a traditional African style, where a campfire is lit each evening. The extensive wooden deck overlooks an active waterhole with uninterrupted views and the under deck hide offers a unique perspective for wildlife viewing. Unique to Kafunta is its hot tub with waters fed from a natural spring; the perfect way to unwind after an eventful day’s safari. There is also a pontoon boat that carries the game vehicle across the river, providing a quick way to get into the park without using the main gate.

Your stay at Kafunta River Lodge includes all meals, selected drinks, two daily game activities and return Mfuwe airport transfers.

Furnished in the local style, the spacious chalets are on raised wooden platforms with thatched roofs and private viewing decks. The split-level suites also feature an upstairs viewing verandah. Each has a private bathroom, ceiling fan, mini fridge and safe.
