On arrival into Mfuwe Airport, your will be transferred to Kafunta River lodge located on the banks of the Luangwa River flood plain.
Depending on your arrival time, you may be able to enjoy an afternoon safari to seek out the park’s amazing array of wildlife.
Day 2 & 3 – South Luangwa National Park
Over the next two days enjoy morning and afternoon game activities, exploring the game-rich Mfuwe area of the park.
You can enjoy a variety of activities, including exhilarating 4×4 game drives through South Luangwa National Park, renowned for its abundant wildlife, particularly leopards.
You can also experience the unique South Luangwa walking safaris, guided by expert trackers, or relax with sundowner drinks while watching wildlife from the lodge’s panoramic deck overlooking the Luangwa River.
Day 4 – Fly to Lower Zambezi
After breakfast, transfer to Mfuwe Airport keeping your eyes out for wildlife along the way. The flight to Royal Airstrip takes under two hours and from there, it is just 20 minutes drive to your next camp.
Chongwe River Camp has a beautiful setting with luxury tented accommodation overlooking the river, close to the border of Lower Zambezi National park.
Depending on what time you arrive, there may be time for lunch followed by your first exciting game activity into the National Park.
Day 5 & 6 – Lower Zambezi National Park
Over the next two days, enjoy the stunning scenery and rich wildlife viewing of one of Africa’s finest wilderness experiences.
Nestled between an imposing mountain escarpment to the north and the mighty Zambezi River to the south, Lower Zambezi National Park contains one of Africa’s healthiest elephant populations, along with large herds of buffalo, prides of lion, and many elusive leopards.
Game drives offer a great way to explore the variety of terrain and habitats, whilst drifting gently along the Zambezi River in a canoe and observing game close by, is perhaps the park’s most iconic experience. There are also walking safaris and boat trips to further complement your game viewing opportunities.
Day 7 & 8 – Visit Victoria Falls
Depending on your flight departure today, there may be time for one last game drive before heading to the airstrip for your flight to Livingstone, gateway to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls.
During your two night stay, enjoy the tranquil Zambezi riverside setting of Waterberry Lodge along with the activities they offer. You can visit the Falls in Mosi-ao-Tunya National Park, enjoy a sunset river cruise or enjoy meeting the locals on a village tour.
Day 9 – Farewell from Livingstone
After breakfast this morning, you will still have time to relax by the pool, before your transfer to the airport in time for your onward flight.
As you depart be sure to look out the window as you may get a stunning aerial view of Victoria Falls.
