Hidden amongst riverine forest on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River, Tongabezi is one of Zambia’s tourism icons with a proud heritage stretching back over 30 years. This romantic escape has just 11 cottage rooms and houses, and its located a 45 minutes drive from Victoria Falls, offering a relaxing base to see the sights.

The main communal area of the lodge consists of the two storey Lookout which sits on stilts over-looking the river, and the Hangout lounge with various cozy seating areas to converse with fellow guests. Copious amounts of deck space include a sunken area surrounding the fire pit, ideal for those evening riverside drinks. The Rock Pool comes complete with its own mini waterfall cascading down the rocks, whilst a larger lap pool with lounge and bar area provides another space to relax.

Service is second-to-none with guests assigned a personal valet who will arrange meals and book tours during your stay.

Included in the cost are a range of activities that can be taken at a time that suits you which includes the iconic Victoria Falls, sunset boat cruises, local village and market visits, and game drives in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. For romantic meals, take lunch on a sand bar mid river, or dinner on a floating Sampan platform.

River Cottages feature high ceilings and an African fusion style décor, a large deck overlooking the river, and luxury bathrooms with shower and a roll top bath. There are also a number of specialty rooms including the Nut House which features a sunken lounge leading out to the deck, complete with infinity plunge pool and wonderful river views. All rooms have four poster beds, air conditioning, safe and mini bar.
