Your journey begins with a late morning transfer to Gia Lam Station, where you’ll be welcomed in the VIP lounge before boarding the train. Enjoy a relaxing start with coffee or juice before departure.

As the train leaves Hanoi, take in the peaceful countryside views – rice fields, small villages and mountain scenery. A Vietnamese-inspired lunch is served on board, blending local flavours with international dishes.

Spend the afternoon relaxing as the landscape unfolds. In the evening, enjoy a traditional music and dance performance at a local stop before returning to the train for a three-course dinner and a restful night on board.

Wake to the fresh mountain air of northwest Vietnam and enjoy breakfast on board before heading out to explore Sapa. Begin with a ride on the Muong Hoa Mountain Train, passing terraced rice fields and misty valleys, then take the Fansipan Cable Car to the summit – the highest peak in Indochina – for panoramic views of Sapa’s stunning landscape.

After lunch, visit Lao Chai Village in the Muong Hoa Valley to see traditional houses and terraced fields that define rural mountain life.

Return to the train in the evening for dinner in the bistro car and a relaxing overnight journey back towards Hanoi.

Depart Hanoi at sunrise and enjoy a Tonkin-style breakfast as the train travels through peaceful countryside. On arrival in Hai Phong, transfer to Tuan Chau Marina to board your luxury cruise through the UNESCO listed Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay.

Sail among limestone islands and explore Sang Toi Cave by kayak or bamboo boat. Spend time swimming or relaxing at Ao Ech, then unwind on deck during a sunset tea or soak in the jacuzzi as evening falls over the bay.

After dinner on board, return to the train for your overnight journey, relaxing in your private cabin as the train carries you back through northern Vietnam.
