You will be collected from Cape Town around 9am, by an official Aquila Game Reserve vehicle and transported to the reserve. The journey time is approximately two and half hours from Cape Town.

On arrival at Aquila Game Reserve, you will be greeted and a member of staff will outline the day’s itinerary as you enjoy a welcome drink with the other guests. You will then be able to enjoy a buffet lunch prior to checking-in to your chosen room.

There will be some leisure time in the early afternoon to get acquainted with the lodge facilities including the swimming pool and sun deck with a bar prior to your first game drive.

The afternoon game drive will take up to three hours depending on wildlife encounters and weather conditions. Your expert guides will do their best to give you some incredible photographic opportunities and a chance to see the ‘Big 5’.

Following your afternoon game drive there will be a dinner buffet followed by a chance to participate in star gazing with an expert, who will introduce you to the highlights of the southern skies.

Lunch & dinner

This morning will begin with a game drive. The cool mornings are when the wildlife are at their most active. The early morning light is also good for photography, so your guide will help you make the most of this opportunity.

After about one and half hours in the vehicle you will be returned to the lodge in time for a buffet breakfast overlooking the reserve. After breakfast, although you will need to check-out of your room, there will still be time to enjoy the lodge facilities, including the swimming pool and spa (treatments paid locally)

Your official Aquila Game Reserve transportation will collect you from the lodge at midday and return you back to Cape Town.

Breakfast

The standard rooms at Aquila Game Lodge, provide simple but comfortable facilities, with either twin or double beds and ensuite shower rooms.

Aquila’s Premier Lodge rooms offer a spacious bedroom with a private balcony or patio that overlooks the game reserve. Bathrooms are equipped with both a shower and a bathtub.

Aquila’s Deluxe Safari Cottages are located on one of the Karoo’s rocky outcrops offering panoramic views across Aquila Game Reserve.

The spacious and private cottages come with a double bed, ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub. The private deck also has a hot-tub from which you can view the wildlife.
