Description
After a scenic transfer to Gansbaai, board your boat for a cruise to Dyer Island where you will see the penguin colony, before heading to Geyser rock, home to some 60,000 fur seals. The highlight of this trip will be the opportunity for a close-up encounter from your boat with whales which migrate through the bay between June and December.
Dyer Island is located 8 km from shore and is an important conservation area for many resident bird species, including African penguins. Adjacent to Dyer Island is Geyser Rock, home to a 60,000 strong Cape fur seal colony which are present all year round. The boat will take you into the channel of water between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock known as the world famous ‘Shark Alley’ because of the regular sightings of the mighty Great White Shark.
You will then continue on to some of the whale hot-spots in the bay that are frequented by southern right whales between June and December.
